A New Year of Hope and Impact
“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb." Psalm 139:13 Hello, Life Community! As we begin a new fiscal year at Informed Choices, I want to pause with gratitude for God's faithfulness and thank each of you for being part of this ministry. At our event in June, we introduced the Life Community, a community that represents so much more than a donor group. It is the shared calling and collective commitment of everyone connected to Informed Choic

god’s perfect timing
A notification popped up on my phone, alerting me of a text from a client. The image of a beautiful newborn baby girl with rosy cheeks, a button nose, and a puckered lip warmed my heart. The text from *Diana read: “I just had my baby girl, Jenna, I wanted you to be one of the first to see her. She’s beautiful and healthy.” She thanked all of us at the clinic for our help and prayers. It brought tears to my eyes as I remembered back to the beginning of Diana’s story. She cam

An Ordinary Wednesday
It was just an ordinary Wednesday. We opened the doors of Informed Choices at 10:00 am. The schedule was full for the day, and we were depending on God's love, wisdom and strength to serve the women who would come in that day. Several of the appointments were mamas needing material goods. Maternity clothes were tried on and bagged up. Baby clothes, diapers and other supplies were joyfully received. Another mama arrived to pick up a much-needed stroller. We also had pregnancy

The best gift ever!
“Every good and perfect gift is from above.” James 1:17 What’s the best gift you’ve ever received? For me, it came in the form of a baby. At 38 weeks pregnant, I went in for what I thought would be a routine appointment. Instead, the doctor told me it was time. What?! I remember thinking, wait, I am not ready. I still have a couple of weeks. It was my 30th birthday, with dinner reservations waiting. God had other plans for that day. My birthday became something I will never f

tears of sorrow, tears of joy
Carly* called Informed Choices asking for an appointment for an abortion. Her voice was young and shaky. Our receptionist gently told her that we do not perform or refer for abortion, but that we would love to offer her a pregnancy test to confirm her pregnancy and an ultrasound to verify viability and gestational age. She also told her all our services are free. Carly hesitated for a few seconds, then made an appointment for the following day. The next day happened to be a T

a speck of sawdust
Lisa* came into our clinic requesting a pregnancy test. She sat alone in the waiting room. She looked so sad. I assumed her expression came from fear or disappointment about this pregnancy... my first unnoticed speck of “sawdust”… During the consultation she shared with me that she was happy and excited to become a mother. Though unplanned, she already felt “such love in her heart “ for her baby. I spoke with her about her faith, as she had marked on her intake form that sh

3RD ANNUAL HOLIDAY OF HOPE
In December, we hosted our third annual Holiday of Hope Christmas Tree Event for our clients and their families. In partnership with One Giving Tree, we were able to bless 25 families with a free Christmas tree and tree kit, complete with lights, ornaments, and tinsel, along with generous gift cards to our local Old City Hall restaurant. Our staff and faithful group of volunteers created a beautiful, welcoming celebration around these gifts. Families enjoyed a taco lunch prov
