Iron Sharpens Iron

Each year, we have an opportunity to attend a pro-life conference hosted by one of our two large affiliates, Heartbeat International. This year, I, along with Mayra Martinez, IC receptionist, and Ruth Scott, a longtime client advocate & volunteer, attended the conference in Birmingham, Alabama. 

Not only was it Mayra and Ruth’s first time attending the 3-day conference, but it was Mayra’s first time flying!

Approximately 2,000 people from around the world, involved in the pro-life movement, attended this conference. There is nothing more invigorating than being in a place where you can share the love of Jesus, pray with one another, exchange ideas, and inspire each other. It’s encouraging and incredible, and the Holy Spirit is palpably present throughout the entire event. 

Each attendee chooses the sessions they believe will benefit them, and then we gather at the end of each day to share the knowledge gained from those sessions. We dream about how we can apply these newfound experiences and the knowledge we have gained in our clinic back home. 

It is because of YOU, our generous donors, that we were able to attend the conference this year and are encouraged and rejuvenated. This conference as well as others like it are immensely important as they offer unique opportunities to gather with other pro-lifers. It allows us to glean from one another, share our triumphs and struggles, encourage one another, and praise the One who guides us and provides. After all, we know that without God at the helm, none of what we do is possible.
