humble gratitude

If you have been around me for any length of time, you have probably heard me say, “Be grateful for what you have, or why would God give you more?” It's funny how we all have pieces of wisdom we love to share, but when it's our turn to follow that advice, we either forget it or choose not to listen.
Well, I am no different from anyone else, and it took me three and a half years in this role to realize that I needed to be more grateful. Boy, I am a slow learner!
I wasn’t being as grateful as I should have been for what God provided, and I certainly wasn't following the advice I so happily shared with others. God began to confront me with podcasts, Bible verses, songs, and sermons at church that challenged and inspired me to shift my thinking - and more importantly, my heart and thoughts - to gratitude.
Be anxious for nothing; but in every thing, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
~ Philippians 4:6–7
I began to reflect on what God had done throughout my time here at Informed Choices. God has shown up in more ways than I can count, which are truly astounding.
This summer has been one of those moments. Even though we ended the fiscal year with a shortfall, God provided us with three unexpected generous donations so that we are able to begin the new fiscal year with more than $35,000 in the positive. God’s timing is perfect, and he knows what we need and when we need it. Our job is to be diligent and work towards our goals, and he will provide support.
Thank you to each of YOU for making it possible for Informed Choices to continue our mission of Supporting Women, Upholding Life!
