From Our Heart to Yours
Thankfulness...sing it out!
Be filled with the Spirit; speaking one to another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord; giving thanks always for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father. (Ephesians 4:18-20)
Informed Choices is a special place to me…”heartwarming," “peaceful,” and “inviting.”
Those aren't just my words. We hear them often from mothers and families who come to us for acceptance and help finding answers, care and support. Some come to us heavily burdened; uncertain and confused. However, after they speak with our staff and volunteers, or meet with our nurses and patient advocates, they leave having heard all their options so they are able to make a more informed decision - and they are able to consider possibilities they may never have imagined without us. I am so thankful for every opportunity I have had to help these individuals!
Some of you may not know it, but I began volunteering for Informed Choices in 2008. I was filled with such a strong and loud enthusiasm to share my opinion with these mothers, that the Director at that time put me to work in the material goods room to fold clothes! Well, since then I have had many opportunities to grow through service at IC. I was the Board President for a season, then Office Manager for three years, and recently I have been hired as our new Site Director. As I think back over my years at IC, I am filled with a song of THANKFULNESS!
I remember when we moved into our building on First Street and how much it needed our tender loving care...much like our clients do. We worked together with many of you who volunteered to polish up the place and bring life to an empty office space - and in turn to a quiet neighborhood. Many of our local business partners are referring patients to us for medical, emotional and practical needs and our center has grown steadily…we are now seeing three times as many clients as when we began! I am so thankful for our community!
I am thankful for the wonderful people I get to work with every day...supporting women and families while upholding life. That is our mission you know...to support women and uphold life for anyone who walks through our doors, regardless of sex, creed or financial ability. We also support each member of this organization on and off the job. We pray for each other and laugh often. We learn to work as a team; encouraging one another and comforting one another during crises. In the process, we become better advocates for our clients and their families.
Our volunteer base is also something I am very proud of and thankful for. They are very well known for stepping up when needed. I know a call for help with a community event will elicit an immediate response. I am confident I will have two or three people immediately ready to help if flyers for any client service or donor event need to be delivered around town. And I can always count on a few extra hands at the table when I send an ALL CALL for help to get this newsletter printed, stuffed and mailed to you! It is a great honor and blessing for me to be the Site Director of an operation that runs so efficiently, cooperatively and faithfully.
Informed Choices is a pregnancy medical clinic I am proud to put my name to and stand up to represent in our city, county and state. And I am so thankful for every one of you who stands with us, donating and supporting this center in the name of Jesus! As you prepare for our own hearts for Thanksgiving…
I hope you will join me in thanking God for Informed Choices.
Let us sing it from the rooftops! Let us write it in the heavens!
